Púca Director Eileen Carroll commented “We’re honoured to have been chosen by the Department to develop the TravelWise security alerts app, and naturally we’ll be monitoring feedback over the coming weeks to see how we can further improve it. I’d like to say a huge thanks to our fantastic development and client services team for pulling out all the stops to deliver this project on time”.
Store Country Travel Advisories
Irish citizens are highly mobile and a smartphone app is a practical way to provide country-specific security alerts, and store detailed information and contact details for countries that they wish to visit. TravelWise includes the Department’s country travel advisories, based local information from Ireland’s network of Embassies abroad and their EU and international partners.
Contact details for of all Irish Embassies, Consulates and other missions abroad are also included. Once you have downloaded the app, its content is also available off-line so users can access the information when abroad without incurring roaming charges. App users can also use the handy checklist of things to do before you travel, to help organise and plan their trip.
Register for Country Alerts
This innovative App will allow Irish citizens to access important travel advice all over the world, including customised crisis alerts and access to the global Irish embassy network.
The Department encourages users to register their contact details so they can be contacted in the event of a crisis, particularly for those travelling to higher-risk destinations. Users can subscribe to be notified of any significant changes to their travel advice for nominated countries via push notification or SMS.
