Púca uses 2D Barcodes to promote Citroen mobile site

The latest barcode technology is being used to promote a mobile Internet site for the Citroen C4 launch in China.

The mobile Internet site, which will be promoted through all of the print ads for the new car, provides essential marketing information about the new car: mechanical features, aerodynamics and interior design. The site will allow the brand to capture permission-based consumer data in order to generate more leads. In addition, using the ‘click-to-call’ function, the consumer will be able to call the Citroen service centre directly from their Wap browser.

A key innovation is that Citroen added a 2D barcode (DM code) from Púca on their print ads. Using this new technology, the consumer simply scans the ad with their camera phone in order to be directed to the Wap site.

“The magazines carrying the Citroen print ads are due to be published in the coming days and once that happens the traffic to the Wap site should start to really build. We will then able to see what sort of response the campaign has produced and we would be very optimistic,” says Stephane Vidaillet, general manager of Púca China.
