Permanent TSB - Mobile Management of Emergency Planning
Permanent TSB needed an efficient and user friendly way to communicate emergencies with key emergency team members as part of their Disaster Recovery Programme. The key objective was to ensure the continuity of business processes in the event of an emergency situation.
Púca’s mobile solution for PTSB’s requirements is the Message Console – an easy-to-use web-based mobile communications tool which enables clients to manage mobile communications and interactions with their members, customers and staff.
Message Console allows the management of both inbound and outbound communications - outbound large scale textouts will be used to communicate emergencies and the inbound view/keyword function can be used for managers to communicate internally.
The application will mainly just be used for an emergency situation or disaster recovery scenario. For example, if there is a fire or explosion in one of their buildings, there is a team set up to co ordinate the emergency plan. This would entail checking all personnel are safe and that business maintains continuity. There is a team set up to co-ordinate all of this and the Messaging Console would be used for inbound and outbound communication.
Other features of Message Console include customized messages (through data fields), real-time communication & data collection, full statistics functionality for 24/7 monitoring, the ability to export statistical data and mobile numbers and direct inline reply messages.
The use of mobile for Emergency Planning is just one of the ways that SMS and other mobile technologies can be used to gain business efficiencies and streamline communication – Message Console and other similar Púca products can also be used for internal staff communication, customer communication (offers & updates), collections (bill payments reminders) and appointment reminders.
